Infection with the Swine Flu virus is also recognised by the sudden onset of symptoms in a matter of hours, changing a healthy person into a very ill person.

5. SWINE FLU VACCINATION FACTS:

The swine flu vaccine used is not different from any previous flu virus vaccination used over the last 60 years. This prevents millions of people yearly from developing the prevalent flu and if contracted, presenting with much lighter symptoms and avoiding the acute complications. The vaccination stimulates your own immune system to produce antibodies to the Swine Flu virus. When you then come in contact with the virus these antibodies attack the virus and prevent the flu.

  • Swine flu vaccine do not cause the swine flu
  • The vaccine starts to work within 2 weeks
  • You can still contract the Swine flu virus after vaccination, but your antibodies will attack the swine flu virus immediately, reducing your symptoms and possible complications
  • The vaccination will be given in the left upper arm.
  • A small % of people might suffer light transient flu symptoms like a fever, headache, body pains and tiredness.
  • The vaccination will not affect your immune status if a more aggressive form of the virus presents later.
  • You can continue your normal duties and life and do not need to be isolated from other people.
